Happy 20th Birthday Jessica!! (Oct. 31st)

Sunday afternoon I received a txt on my phone from my Best Friend's daughter, Jessica asking me if Brandon & I would like to come eat supper with them on Monday evening celebrating her 20th Birthday. She told me she understood if we couldn't. I told her I would definitely be there but Brandon already had plans with a friend to work on his term paper. I was thrilled that Jessica wanted us to be part of her Birthday dinner. :) It really did make my day...actually it made my whole week & I'm sure I'll think about it a milion times & it will make me smile each time. :)
Jessica is such an important part of my life. I remember Jessica when she was little newborn baby. We sat several rows back from them in church. I watched Jessica while Robin rocked her & burped her & thought what a beautiful baby girl! I know she is going to be a beautiful young lady. Well it hit me yesterday that so much time has went by..20 years worth of time & now she is that sweet Christian young lady that I once dreamed of what she would look like. :)
I could have only hoped when she was a baby that I would play such an important part of her life that she would want Brandon & I to come over celebrate her 20th Birthday with her!
You see I don't have any girls...I have two boys. So being in Jessica's life has been such a blessing. I have been so blessed to be able to watch her grow up. Her and Brandon started school together & were in the same Kindergarten class. So that meant I went on field trips together & was able to experience that with them. Brandon & Jessica have actually shared many classes together through their school years! I have been to their Bday parties & Jessica & her family have been to our boys Bday parties. We've even went on many beach vacations together. They have went many a day to Bible Class together too. We still attend the same church all these years later. :)
The most important & specialist day was when Jessica was baptized!!! Such a blessing to be able to see that. :) She truly is a child of God.
Here's some pics of Jessica's 20th Bday dinner we had her house:
Jessica (left) & KaSandra (right) have been Best Friends since Kindergarten!

Jessica's sweet kitty cat. :)

Bell resting while we eat supper. He actually fell asleep while waiting on us.

Robin made some awesome chicken & gravy, green lima beans, broccoli & cheese & yeast rolls, & sweet tea. It was delicious!

Jessica with her plate of food. :)

Jessica's Mom made her this cheesecake. Robin also made another cheesecake topped with strawberries! (Opps didn't take a pic of it.) I had two pieces of it. :) It was soooo good!

We all love birthday presents. ;)

Jessica liked her gift I bought her. :)

Jessica read her cards to us...it made us all laugh. :)

I had a wonderful evening celebrating with you Jessica. :) I love you more than you know. :) I hope to be there for more wonderful celebrations!! You have so much ahead of you..nursing school, marriage, children ....& I plan to be there for all of it.
(((Hugs))) to you.

Happy 1st Birthday Kason!

March 1st 2011 our sweet lil' nephew Kason Lane turned 1 year old! We celebrated his 1st Birthday on Saturday March 5th @ Jay & Karen's house with Family.

Kason has added so much joy to our family this past year! It's really indescribable. Karen, Mom & I have had so many conversations repeating how happy he's made all of us. I have taken so many pics of the little guy this first year. I know it's in the thousands!! It's just so easy in this digital age!
One of my favorite pics of Kason:

I have so enjoyed each and every moment from being there at the hospital when Jay brought him out to the waiting area to show Kason off (Karen had Kason via C-section) to watching him roll over, to sitting up, crawling & he's been walking since 11 months old! My how time has flown!
It's been extra special being our boys are 18 & 21, to have a little one back in our lives. I have not taken it for granted one little bit. I've enjoyed each and every at milestone Kason has went through. One of my very cherished moments with him is rocking him and talking to him and he would just lay there and stare at me while sucking on his passy and would then drift off to sleep. It was so surreal & peaceful. I remember crying ever so softly because I just felt this incredible amount of love for this little baby boy who was not mine, but yet I felt this deep connection too. I guess this is because he is my sisters baby boy. Karen has always been there for me when my boys were babies (she was still in high school!) & toddlers and even now. So now I have this chance to be here for her and their baby boy. I would do anything for Kason Lane. I LOVE him so very much. I didn't think I had room in my heart to love another baby like I love Colby & Brandon, but I do. I love Kason if he were mine! I'm so thankful Karen & I are sisters & best friends because we get to share everything about Kason on a daily basis! Thank goodness for cell phones!

Kason had a wonderful Birthday party! It couldn't turned out better. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining but it wasn't too hot, 70's. Just perfect weather!
I showed up to Karen's around 12:45pm. (I had errands to run in Chiefland first, otherwise I would have been there earlier!) His party wasn't to start till 5:00pm which would begin with eating grilled hamburgers & hotdogs courtesy of Jay. Moma fixed home made potatoe salad & Granny Driggers fixed home made coleslaw. We also had chips too. We drank some good ole' sweet tea or we had water & soft drinks. Everything was delicious! Of course we had plenty of left overs except there wasn't any potatoe salad left! Go Moma!

It was then the BiG MoMeNt we had been waiting for....time for Kason to get his own cake!!!! We all stood there watching him while he carefully touched his cake & then looked at his Mom & Dad, as if to say, "Can I really do this or am I gonna get in trouble?"
Here's a pic of this moment:

Cake Time!

What a Mess!

Kason also got a cute little yellow laby puppy from his Mommy & Daddy!
Here he is with his Great Granny Driggers & with his puppy named "Bud".

Kason's Birthday Table: Elmo was the theme!!

Here's Pa with Kason....Kason loved the balloons!

Colby, Sarah & Kason....Kason just kept staring at Sarah..:)
He knows a pretty girl when he sees one!

Nanny sharing a cupcake with Kason. (This was
before Cake Time!) She was getting him
ready for eating his cake later!!

Kason with Brandon.... :)

Having fun opening presents...:)

I LOVE this pic of Granny, Kason & Bud! Granny loves pulling
Kason in his wagon!!

I found this shirt @ Target. It said,"I'm the
                                 Birthday Boy!!"

It's so much fun taking pictures of this little fella. I can't wait to see what year 2 brings! :) I'm sure it will be an exciting year!

Our Son's 21st Birthday!

I can't believe our oldest son Colby is 21 years old! Oh my oh my, where has the time went too?
We celebrated his Birthday by having family & friends meet us at the Ben Jack Hunting Camp. We have hunted here at the camp for years. I know since Chuckie & I met back in 1989 they've hunted here and I know they've hunted there for several years before that!  We have celebrated many Thanksgivings & Christmas's down at the good ole' camp.
Chuckie grilled hamburgers & hotdogs for everyone. We had some good tastin' barbque beans that Granny made & boy were they yummy! Also added to the menu was some tasty coleslaw & chips. After lunch we had a marble cake from Walmart. It was good but I've tasted better. But who's complaining?
I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Colby with his finace Sarah. :)

Colby & I. He will always be my little boy! ;)

Colby & his brother Brandon.

Colby & his Dad. :)

Cousin George with their 3 week old baby named Olivia! Such a beautiful
& sweet baby!

Stacey taking time to smile!

Josh & Melissa :)

Nan had been riding Brooke and Amer around in the hunting woods. I can remember
going riding with Colby, Brandon, Josh & Mandy when they were little!! It seems just like a few years ago!

Brianna fell asleep while Nan was riding them around on the four wheeler!

We all had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Colby's 21st Birthday! :)
