New Beginning...called Atkins Diet in Progress as of Today!!!

(This was written 3/31/11..sorry so late for posting, but as my Mom always said, "Better late than never!" ):   Today is a new day for me. I have started the Atkins Diet! I am kind of nervous, excited, anxious all rolled together! I know I can do it because I did it back in 2004. I just fell off the bandwagon big time! I'm not going to call this a diet though...I'm going to call this a lifestyle change! I just want to use the Atkins Diet to really jump start the process and really until I get to where I "want" to be then I want to eat healthy and not go back to my emotional eating!
I also know I have got to incorporate excercise into my new way of living. I'm just not sure how or when!!! I definetly want to get the diet down pat first. Some of you that read my blog already know this but for those of you who don't I have Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (more in depth explanation will be for another post!). So it's really hard to feel like exercising, but I know I need to fit some in so that I can maximize my weight loss & to become healthier. I will. Soon.
Chuckie got up this morning and fixed my breakfast for me!! Since I've started my job at Shands (Aug. 2009) & I have to leave the house between 6:30-6:45 he always fixes my lunch for me & packs it! ;) He says its because I fixed his lunches when we were first married (for the first 6 or 7 years) so now it's his turn!  This morning he fixed me scrambled eggs, fried bacon & broke into pieces & put it in a bowl with the eggs & sprinkled a little bit of cheese on top! I ate it on my way to work. :) Yep, I was multi tasking! My healthy breakfast was delicious!!!! I enjoyed a Diet Cherry Pepsi too. I called Chuckie after I finished eating to thank him. :) This did hold me until lunch too! I know this is alot better than a Debbie Cake Honeybun! lol
For lunch today I fixed a salad, two slices of lunch meat ham, one slice of cheese broke into little pieces, 1/2 tomatoe & a tablespoon Ranch dressing. I still need to buy the fat free kind. It's on my list! Oh yeah & SoBe Life Strawberry Kiwi Life Water. CVS has them BuyOneGetOneFree! :)
For supper I ate two chicken patties (the kind you fix in the oven) & put shredded cheese on top & 3 slices of tomatoes. I was extremley full!
All in all today I was not hungry in between meals, I didn't crave sugar, & I feel satisfied!! I'm totally surprised, espescially about not craving sugar!!! Who would have thought?
I did find an inspiring quote which made me really think about doing the Atkins NOW. Here it is:

Our Relaxing Saturday Evening.....

We had a very relaxing Saturday evening. Chuckie did have to work but met me at Karen & Jay's house after work. I had been visiting for a couple of hours with Karen & Kason. Kason is so very sweet. He's walking all over the place!! It's such a joy just to sit and watch Kaon play. He has touched so many lives in such a special way!
I called Chuckie to see if he wanted to ride to Suwannee when he got off work. I had my camera with me (as always!!) and I'd been wanting to take pics of a sunset on the water for quite a while! He agreed and said he'd meet me at Karen's. He brought me a yummy Mickey D's quarter pounder with cheese, their yummy fries & a sweet tea for me to eat on our way. It's always better when you're headed on an adventure! I'd never been to Suwannee before & didn't realize how far it was! It was about 22 miles from Old Town.
It seemed so relaxing when we arrived. It had this very peaceful calm feeling while we were riding around. I loved seeing the the gulf water and the sun headed down. It doesn't get much better than this!!! One of my close friends Renee and her husband have just purchased a condo here in Suwannee! They are so going to enjoy their time down here!!! I did txt Renee so I could find out the name of their Condo so we could find it. It looked very nice!
We finally decided on a nice spot to take pics. There was a man fishing who just happened to catch a crab right when we walked up! Boy was that crab mad!!! The sand gnats were starting to bite too! As the sun went down they kept bitting more and more!
Here's some pics from the evening:

Happy 1st Birthday Kason!

March 1st 2011 our sweet lil' nephew Kason Lane turned 1 year old! We celebrated his 1st Birthday on Saturday March 5th @ Jay & Karen's house with Family.

Kason has added so much joy to our family this past year! It's really indescribable. Karen, Mom & I have had so many conversations repeating how happy he's made all of us. I have taken so many pics of the little guy this first year. I know it's in the thousands!! It's just so easy in this digital age!
One of my favorite pics of Kason:

I have so enjoyed each and every moment from being there at the hospital when Jay brought him out to the waiting area to show Kason off (Karen had Kason via C-section) to watching him roll over, to sitting up, crawling & he's been walking since 11 months old! My how time has flown!
It's been extra special being our boys are 18 & 21, to have a little one back in our lives. I have not taken it for granted one little bit. I've enjoyed each and every at milestone Kason has went through. One of my very cherished moments with him is rocking him and talking to him and he would just lay there and stare at me while sucking on his passy and would then drift off to sleep. It was so surreal & peaceful. I remember crying ever so softly because I just felt this incredible amount of love for this little baby boy who was not mine, but yet I felt this deep connection too. I guess this is because he is my sisters baby boy. Karen has always been there for me when my boys were babies (she was still in high school!) & toddlers and even now. So now I have this chance to be here for her and their baby boy. I would do anything for Kason Lane. I LOVE him so very much. I didn't think I had room in my heart to love another baby like I love Colby & Brandon, but I do. I love Kason if he were mine! I'm so thankful Karen & I are sisters & best friends because we get to share everything about Kason on a daily basis! Thank goodness for cell phones!

Kason had a wonderful Birthday party! It couldn't turned out better. It was a beautiful day with the sun shining but it wasn't too hot, 70's. Just perfect weather!
I showed up to Karen's around 12:45pm. (I had errands to run in Chiefland first, otherwise I would have been there earlier!) His party wasn't to start till 5:00pm which would begin with eating grilled hamburgers & hotdogs courtesy of Jay. Moma fixed home made potatoe salad & Granny Driggers fixed home made coleslaw. We also had chips too. We drank some good ole' sweet tea or we had water & soft drinks. Everything was delicious! Of course we had plenty of left overs except there wasn't any potatoe salad left! Go Moma!

It was then the BiG MoMeNt we had been waiting for....time for Kason to get his own cake!!!! We all stood there watching him while he carefully touched his cake & then looked at his Mom & Dad, as if to say, "Can I really do this or am I gonna get in trouble?"
Here's a pic of this moment:

Cake Time!

What a Mess!

Kason also got a cute little yellow laby puppy from his Mommy & Daddy!
Here he is with his Great Granny Driggers & with his puppy named "Bud".

I found this shirt @ Target. It said,"I'm the
                                 Birthday Boy!!"

It's so much fun taking pictures of this little fella. I can't wait to see what year 2 brings! :) I'm sure it will be an exciting year!
