My 42nd B~day....

{I just found this in "draft" form...so here it is over a month late! .}

I just love Birthdays, especially mine which was May 21st. That isn't awful is it?  This birthday was just the greatest!

On May 19th which was a Saturday,  my friends, Jenna, Jean & Tina whom I work with surprised me by coming to my house with a birthday card, red roses, magazines, a necklace & a home made red velvet cake!!! It was so very thoughtful for them to take time out of their busy weekend to come see me. (I hadn't seen them since May 8th..due to me being out sick & filing for short term disability). They made me feel very special to say the least.

This is one of the magazines Jean brought me! This is actually my very favorite magazine!!

My sweet Birthday card they gave me. :)

On the day of my birthday which fell on a Monday, my hubby Chuckie was off work. He drove to Shired Island & Horseshoe Beach so I could snap a few pics.It was beautiful weather and we enjoyed just riding & looking at all the different houses in Horseshoe Beach.

Here's Shired Island, Fl. It's just a small tiny island where you can actually cancamp, grill or just lay out in the
sun. It's very peaceful which is my kind of place!Shired Island is around 45 - 1 hour from our house. Well worth the time to take a drive & getaway from home.

I'm notorious for taking bird pics. Everyone always laughs at me but they just let me because they know it's just "me". Look at all that foam!! I was amazed by that.

When I edited this pic I used the "cross process" which gives the pic a retro feel. I am addicted to the cross process editing tool at Pic Monkey!! Pic Monkey is a free website where you can edit your photos and even make collages. It's my go to place!!

When I look at this pic, I can tell the Fibromyalgia was kicking my butt this day. I didn't really fell like having my pic taken, but it was my b-day so I wanted to document the day.

This pic and the following pics are taken at Horseshoe Beach, Fl. It a small little fishing community. No need of red lights..just stop sign. It's beautiful down there. I can totally see why people live there. As I stood there & looked at the beautiful blue sky and water, I couldn't help but think of our awesome God we serve!!!

These pics did not need editing. I only added a frame around them. The weather was beautiful as you can tell!

This is someone's private dock!! How awesome is that? I would sit out there on the end of the dock with a book in my hand for hours, especially to watch the sunset!!

Just drop me off on this little island and come pick me up at dusk. ;)

On our way home we ran by Dairy Queen in Cross City. I ordered a Butterfinger Blizard & he ordered a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate. It was oh so good!

After resting at home, it was then time to go to Gainesville for our dinner at Yamatos Japanese Steakhouse. My dinner was free since it was my birthday. ;) Colby, Sarah & Whitney ate with us. Poor Brandon had to work. :( We did order Brandon a to go dinner. He was looking forward to getting off work & eating a great meal.

Our meal was delicious to say the least. We all enjoyed spending time together and eating a delicious meal together. My favorite is steak & shrimp with rice & extra creamy sauce (not sure the name of it!?) I had just a little bit left over and of course I asked for a to go box!  We were just fixing to leave when I hear a "boom boom" sound. Oh no,  guess what? It was time for everyone to sing "Happy Birthday" too me. I just knew I was going to get to escape without them singing to me. It's always so embarrassing having everyone sing & stare at you! I just smiled.....that's all you can do, right?

By the time we got home, I was ready to eat my left overs! So much for munching on it the next day. ;)

My sweet Mom had bought me a king size reversible quilt for me, which was from her my Dad. It a flower pattern on one side and the other is solid red velour with stitching that makes a pattern. Sorry I haven't taken time to take pics of it. My sweet sister and in laws gave me money which is always super nice!!! Colby & Sarah gave the the cutest necklace with earrings and a metal owl that have a few jewels on him..opps didn't take a pic of him..I think I'll need to do an update!!! ;) I loved everything. Owls hold a special place to my heart!! Whitney, a sweet young lady who is one of Sarh's best friends and she graduated with Colby & Sarah took time out of her schedule to meet us to eat and she even brought me a cute little card, Bath & Body Works candle & body wash! My kind of gift, but more importantly she came to spend this special time with us. :)
All in all it was a wonderful Birthday!!!! I'm so thankful for family & friends. :)
I'm all ready for 43!!!

My Favorite Yard Sale Treasures!

I wanted to share a couple of my most favorite yard sale treasures!!! There is just something about finding something you really like & then on top of that it's an awesome deal!

I have my red rotary dial telephone displayed in my living room. Red happens to me my favorite color and this rotary phone brings back memories of me sitting under my moms big wooden desk (trying to get a little privacy) talking on the phone for hours.
I found this phone in our little one red light town which I dearly love. At one time there was a little antique store in town. I paid $4.00 for this phone and I'm so glad I bought it!!

This is my very favorite yard sale find ever!! I'm not even sure what this piece of furniture is called!? I'm not sure if it's an antique or not? I just knew I loved it from the moment I laid eyes on it!! My hubby asked me, "what are you going to use it for?" I replied, "I don't know but I'm sure I can find some use for it!" The gentleman which owned it was only asking $40.00 for it!! What a steal (or at least I thought so!) So it was SOLD!!! I can honestly say I love it more with each day that passes.
You are probably wandering what I have in those drawers, right? Well, I have dvd's, my journals, & extra remotes!! All the drawers are full too!!

I will have more posts on my yard sale finds. I do love a good bargain! What has been your most proud "find" while going to yard sales, estate sales or in antique shops?

Until Next Time~

Shutterfly Love......

I'm so excited!!! I have just completed my first FREE 8x8 Shutterfly album for our family!!! I am beyond excited!! I had a hard time deciding which photos to use in my album and finally decided to use some pics I had digitally scrapbooked. :) I can't wait to hold our album in our hand!!

I know this will be the first of many albums I create for our family!! If you haven't created a Shutterfly account, go ahead it's easy, it's free, and it's an awesome way to store your photos, order prints, cards, magnets, collages, albums & share your photos with your loved ones! Shutterfly has not paid me to say these kind words, it's just my honest opinion!!!

Until Next Time~

Chuckie aka my hubby had to work today. ( He has to work every other weekend). I made Chuckie a Father's Day card from my stash of scrapbook paper & stickers I have and I think it turned out cute. He said he liked it better than me buying him a card! ( I made my Dad a home made card too and hand wrote a letter to him, which he loved!)

After church tonight our youngest son, Brandon took us out to eat in celebration for Father's Day & a late Mother's Day present. Colby & Sarah even joined us too. We had a good time eating good food & talking.

I am very thankful to have such an awesome Dad for all these years. A Dad I could always count on, a Dad that has always provided us, & a Dad that loves the Lord. (I'll try to post a pic soon of my Dad & I..I have to find one & scan it!)

Woody & Buzz Lightyear Slippers. A Must Have!!

Okay, it's time for a Kason blog post. You know what that means...a few okay a bunch of photos taken of my sweet little nephew. He is growing way too fast for this auntie. I normally see him once a week & each week he's learned more words & is expressing himself in so many different ways.

Y'all check these pics out:

This is Kason's new smile! It's funny to watch the different stages he goes through.

He stuck his tongue out at me! That little stinker! Notice he has his pop pop (this is what he call his lollipop!) & he's holding a blue train that I saved him from my Happy Meal. Also in his right hand is a toy puppy he got out of the bubble gum machine. It's still in the little container. He told his Moma
his dogs were in the dog pen! He does have an imagination, that's for sure!

I love this pic!! It is definitely a "Driggers" look. Kason has a little cousin named Jadie & I've seen this same look from her. They could be brother & sister!

Another favorite photo of mine! I love the serious look, his brown eyes, & long eye lashes.

Kason is giving little Hootie as kiss. Yes, he is still loving his owls. He goes to bed
with them every night. :)

This is our snack. Good ole' Reeses with a Pepsi...you can't beat it!!! (there's his little dogs in their dog
pen..to the right of his hand! lol )

Kason all snuggled up in his Toy Story blanket. :)

He smiled real big just because he saw me with the camera. After I took the pic, he will said: "Aim Aim, you got it?" I told  him, "yes, I got the pic." He makes me laugh all the time!!

We were fixing to run to Subway to get something for supper & he wanted to wear his flop flops. (they are his bed room slippers, but he heard me call my shoes flip flops so he named his flop flops!! hahahaha)

Close up of his bedroom slippers aka "flop flops" with Woody & Buzz Lightyear. Awesome little slippers!!

Me & my favorite little nephew..okay he's my only little nephew. ;)
I sure Love this little guy. :)

It's been a while since I've posted....just haven't been in the groove of things. There's been a lot going on since my last post:

1.) I've filed short term disability at Shands due to having Fibromyalgia & Chronice Fatigue Syndrome. Fibro & CFS has been kicking my butt!! I should find out next week if it went through (I've been praying it does.) I can now rest and take naps as needed which is quite often. So thankful for this much needed rest.

2.) I turned on 42 on May 21st!! This is a post of it's own! ;)

3.) Memorial Day has come and gone but I'm thankful all year round for what our service men & women do for our country and for each one of us. God Bless America!

4.) My Daddy's Birthday which is exactly one week after mine - May 28th. Love my Daddy!

5.) My sweet Daddy was thrown from his horse yesterday afternoon. Luckily he had his cell phone on him. He called Moma (who had went to town) and asked her to please hurry home. He broke his ankle in two places!! He was just taken down to the operation room as I'm typing this out. He's at Shands Hospital and they are taking such good care of him. Surgery should last around 1 1/2 hrs. They are going to put metal plates and screws in his ankle. He will have to be off his ankle for 3 months! This is going to be very tough for Daddy. He is always busy with his meat cutting business, working in the garden, feeding the horses, etc. He is definitely a hard working man. After 3 months the Dr. will evaluate his ankle & if it's healed properly they will fit him for a boot to wear for another 3 months. We are all so thankful that he didn't break his back or neck.
This is Blue, whom Daddy was riding when he had his accident. (This is pic is from April 2011) Daddy said it wasn't Blue's fault. Blue just got spooked and bucked Daddy off. Just a freak accident.

God is good all the time............
